Principal’s Message

Hasan Dagli

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Term 3 started with two major events; Eid Festival and Primary Concert.

Eid Festival this year was on the 15th July 2016.

The day involved food stalls, rides, competitions and lots of fun activities for the students. It is always worthwhile seeing joy on their faces. This year’s Eid Festival was again one of the highlights of the school year. It was only through the great teamwork by all of our staff members that the day was as successful as it was. Well done to all those who took part in its organisation.

Primary Concert was held in week four this term.

What an amazing night was that. Our Primary students showcased excellent performances. I would like to express my gratitude to our Primary Department, especially our Primary Coordinator Ms Ozlem Coskun, for all their great effort towards this sensational program. And also of course to our parents, a big thank you to them for their attendance and support.

This year’s concert theme was reading and books. As educators and parents we always try to emphasise the importance of books and encourage our students to read. Books are powerful in that they make readers forget time and step into another world. We need to look for ways to show our kids that they can be entertained when they are read because books are full of incredible stories that cannot be found or experienced in an ordinary life. When we are reading a book, we can become a hero of very dangerous adventures or we can fall into a great love. Sometimes we can find ourselves sitting with a king or a queen in a room, or sometimes fighting with a murderer.

The most important mission for us is looking for the opportunities to make our children curious about a book. Pick one virtuous statement from any book and read it to a child, when he gets curious about that statement then he is more likely to give chase and read that book.

New building

Last but not least I would like to share very exciting news about our school. As of 21st of July, our new building plans are completed and have been submitted to the council. Our new building will be located in the area surrounded with tennis court, car park and existing building. In this new building there will be more classrooms, canteen, cafeteria, main reception, science lab, art room, and offices. We are excited about this new building and are looking forward to the approval of the plan so that we can make a start to the construction.

Regards,
Hasan Dagli
